There’s opportunity for every kind of employee here. Our senior team members help shape the direction of our business while providing mentorship and guidance—and our new employees bring fresh ideas and perspectives.
A strong and growing market
While other industries have experienced extreme employment swings, our family of brands has thrived in the strong (and growing!) HVAC market. Recently, at the Daikin Texas Technology Park, we installed this year’s Daikin Art Contest winner’s artwork! The Daikin Art Contest is a partnership with Waller Independent School District that aims to inspire young citizens to share and grow in our commitment of respecting and preserving the environment. The theme for the 2021 contest, aligning with Earth Day, is “Restore Our Earth!” The artwork is proudly displayed at the front of DTTP for all of our guests, community, and our employees to see. We are so thankful for our Waller ISD family and all of the fifth graders who entered this year!

It’s World Environment Day! This year, we would like to recognize our ongoing Intern-led environmental efforts. For the past three years, our intern-led group projects have been biodiversity-based.
Starting in 2019, our interns focused on reducing CO2 emissions and saving electricity by implementing “kaizen,” which is Japanese for finding ways to continuously improve. The DTTP Pollinator Garden, the focus of the 2020 Summer Intern Biodiversity Project, was designed to help support a network of ecosystem services provided by the Monarch Butterfly.
More than 50 volunteers planted more than 300 nectar plants on the DTTP and Quietflex Houston campuses as part of the project. Their efforts earned the Pollinator Partnership’s 2020 Monarch Sustainer of the Year Award!
This year, marking our third year focusing on biodiversity projects, our 2021 summer interns are split into teams focusing on a variety of sustainable materials management efforts. Though these projects are led by our summer interns, they are crafted to become permanent, sustainable projects to ensure Daikin does its part to be environmentally conscious and responsible.
On this World Environment Day, remember that your efforts, no matter how big or small, have an impact on the beautiful world that we live in!

On this day four years ago, the historical grand opening of the Daikin Texas Technology Park took place right here in Waller, Texas. The DTTP is Daikin’s single largest investment to this day! Over the last four years, we have grown immensely, employing thousands of people in the Greater Houston Area. We are incredibly grateful for our wonderful relationship with our surrounding community as well. On the day of the grand opening, we held a celebratory festival and were so lucky to have over 4,500 people join us from the Daikin team and the community. Our efforts did not stop there: over the past four years we’ve been lucky to be hands-on within our surrounding areas as well. We have established the Daikin Homestay Program which sends local high school students to Osaka, Japan for a cultural exchange program. We have also taken efforts to support students in the surrounding schools with our STEM scholarship and involvement in a variety of education-based events. Daikin has found a home in Waller, Texas and we are proud to be here. Happy fourth anniversary to the DTTP!

The Daikin Cycling Team was 100 percent committed to riding the Texas MS 150 2020 and fundraising to help fight multiple sclerosis. Several Daikin Cycling Team members participated in a socially distanced 75-mile team ride (and one 150-mile rider) on May 2, the race's original start date, after the race was postponed until Sept. 26. Though the race was ultimately canceled, it didn't stop several team members from riding to honor the fight against MS on Sept. 26. The Daikin Cycling Team is happy to announce it raised $14,621.90 to help end MS this year! We're super proud of our cyclists and their commitment to supporting a great cause!

Our newest biodiversity project is underway at DTTP-we've been hard at work planting a Texas native butterfly pollinator garden that will support a network of monarch butterflies vital to the health of our ecosystems. DTTP has accepted the Million Pollinator Garden Challenge from The Pollinator Partnership. We are also registered with the Texas Monarch Fly Away Project and the habitat is registered as a Monarch Waystation. We're following guidelines provided by Houston Wilderness as our Environmental Team works to help replenish the monarch population, which has dropped 90 percent in the last 20 years.

Each year, fifth graders at four Waller ISD elementary schools participate in an environmentally-themed art contest. We stopped by Volunteers of America Texas Lakeview Place Apartments today in Spring Branch, an affordable apartment community for seniors and disabled persons, to see where four donated Goodman Manufacturing packaged terminal air conditioning units (PTAC) will go. Thanks to a great idea from one of our Team Members, Daikin will now be donating aged inventory to nonprofit organizations. Our hope is that these donations meet a nonprofit's need and make a difference in someone's life.

This morning, Daikin team members alongside Habitat for Humanity Northwest Harris County, began their Saturday in Tomball building a family a new home and a new beginning! Today’s build was a “truss build,” which is exciting because it means our volunteers got to help install the giant triangular trusses which form the structural framework providing support for the home’s roof!
We’re proud of our volunteers for not only building houses – but through those houses, the strength, stability and self-reliance that families need in order to create a new beginning!

After months of preparation and hard work, four Waller High School students and their teacher chaperone are off to Japan to participate in Daikin's 10-day Homestay program! The students prepared for their trip by studying the language, culture and customs of Japan during several training sessions hosted by Daikin team members at the Daikin Texas Technology Park.
The program, which is in its third year, aims to share Japanese culture with our local community by sending Waller High School students and their teacher chaperone to live with Daikin families overseas in Osaka, where they have the opportunity to learn more about Daikin and experience the culture first-hand.

We're proud to call Waller, Texas our home! That's why in 2018 we decided to adopt Kermier and Kickapoo Road as part of Harris County’s Adopt-A-County Mile Program. Thank you to the more than 50 Daikin team members and all of our summer interns who braved the heat today to help keep the streets surrounding our campus clean!
We are always happy to connect, listen and help. Let's work together and build something awesome.
